Okay, you've decided you want to become an affiliate marketer and sell other people's products. So...

1. What's your game plan?

2. Do you have any idea what type of product/s you want to sell?

3. Why do you want to sell a particular product/s=?

4. Have you thoroughly researched the competition?

5. Do you understand the competition well enough to effectively present a compelling case in your advertising?

6. Do you know anything about marketing?

7. Have you made an investment in yourself by purchasing marketing books to educate yourself?

8. Did you know your local library has a wealth of free marketing books - many of them classics?

9. Did you know fundamental marketing techniques developed 75 years ago are still effective today?

10. Are you going to use the website provided by the affiliate merchant, or build your own site?

11. Have you researched the advantages and disadvantages for both?

12. Do you understand why it's not a good thing to have the names Homestead, Wordpress, or Blogger in your domain name?

13. Are you considering creating a blog? Why?

14. Are you aware of the amount of work and content that's required to keep a blog fresh and interesting, so that visitors will keep returning?

15. Are you competently knowledgeable about your chosen field of interest?

16. Do you have a sufficient amount of money set aside for advertising? If not, how will you generate traffic to your website in the short term?

17. Do you know how to track your advertising to see if it's working?

18. Do you know how to determine a conversion ratio?

19. Do you understand the importance of website analytics?

20. Do you understand commission percentages and why they're so important when it comes to choosing an affiliate program?
